Why Fleets Choose Inspiration Fleet

Most fleet programs make you choose between a vendor's ecosystem and your own. Inspiration Fleet is built around yours.

Running a Fleet in Columbus

Local conditions shape how a fleet program is built here. Three matter more than most.

One peak prices eleven months of bills

AEP Ohio’s Schedule GS bills demand at $9.05 per kW at secondary voltage. For accounts over 100 kW, the monthly billing demand is the greater of the single highest 30-minute integrated peak, sixty percent of contract capacity less 100 kW, or sixty percent of the highest billing demand established in the previous eleven months. One uncontrolled charging peak therefore puts a floor under the bill for the next eleven months, which makes depot design a decision you make once.

No EV rate is coming to rescue the demand charge

AEP Ohio does file a schedule with no demand charge on it, but it is available to public transit and school bus customers. Its public charging schedule is restricted to designated circuits and capped at the first five hundred enrolments. A private fleet charging at its own Columbus depot takes Schedule GS and pays the demand charge, which makes managed charging the argument rather than a nice-to-have.

Two thousand pounds back on the payload

Ohio law lets a vehicle powered primarily by an electric battery exceed the state’s gross vehicle weight provisions and axle load limits by not more than two thousand pounds. The allowance does not extend to a highway, road, or bridge subject to reduced maximum weights. Specified at order time, it is the answer to the payload objection rather than something discovered at a scale.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets based in Columbus and throughout central Ohio. Services are delivered through our fleet management platform, our vendor network, and our fleet specialists, not through a branch you need to visit.

No. Inspiration Fleet’s platform is an open ecosystem. You keep the vendors that work for you and we integrate their data, or we recommend partners if you want a change.

A fleet management company manages an organization’s vehicles across their lifecycle so the organization can focus on its core business. Inspiration Fleet plans the fleet, acquires and finances vehicles, manages maintenance, telematics, drivers, fuel, and tolls, and remarkets vehicles at the end of their economic life, with the data from all of it in one platform. That is a managed service, not a software subscription.

Inspiration Fleet is built for fleet-intensive organizations across central Ohio. That includes distribution and last-mile fleets working a metro where I-70 and I-71 cross; construction fleets working a metro building outward in every direction; HVAC, plumbing, and electrical field service fleets that need technicians on site and parts on the truck; manufacturing and industrial service fleets moving crews and material between plants; and healthcare systems, universities, and public-sector fleets that answer to procurement rules as much as to operations.

Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets of any composition, from light-duty cars and vans to work trucks and specialty vehicles, for organizations in industries such as construction, field services, healthcare, distribution, higher education, and professional services.

Inspiration Fleet is built for organizations that operate fleets at scale and want a full-service partner rather than a set of point solutions. If your organization manages dozens or hundreds of vehicles, speak with a fleet expert and we will tell you quickly whether we are the right fit.

Fleet Management Coverage in Columbus, Ohio

Nationwide Platform, Columbus Focus

Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets across Columbus and central Ohio, from initial assessment through full-scale program management, with dedicated project management and ongoing operational support.

Ohio registers commercial vehicles by weight. For vehicles not apportioned under the International Registration Plan, the annual registration tax runs from $45 for a vehicle of not more than two thousand pounds to $1,340 for one above seventy-eight thousand pounds. Ohio’s E-Check emissions programme covers seven counties in the northeast of the state, and Franklin County is not among them, so a Columbus-domiciled fleet sits outside it. We handle that administration as part of the program and show the whole fleet in one view.

Areas served: Columbus and central Ohio, including Franklin, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Pickaway, Madison, and Union counties, Ohio.
