Why Fleets Choose Inspiration Fleet

Most fleet programs make you choose between a vendor's ecosystem and your own. Inspiration Fleet is built around yours.

Running a Fleet in Philadelphia

Local conditions shape how a fleet program is built here. Three matter more than most.

Overnight commercial parking is regulated near homes

The Philadelphia Code bars parking a commercial vehicle on any street within one hundred feet of residential property between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., except while loading or unloading in the usual course of business or carrying passengers for hire, with an exception for commercial vehicles of a capacity not in excess of one-half ton that have not been materially changed from the manufacturer’s design. For a fleet, that is a depot siting question, not a parking ticket question.

Off-peak demand is priced differently

On PECO’s Rate GS, the variable distribution service charge is $11.50 per kW of billed demand. The Night Service GS rider bills $3.85 per kW of off-peak billing demand per month, alongside a $24.56 monthly night service billing and metering charge, with on-peak hours defined as 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, ending at 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. A depot that charges overnight sits on a different cost curve than one topping up mid-shift.

The weight allowance is a delta, not a bonus

Pennsylvania lets a vehicle powered primarily by electric battery power exceed the gross vehicle weight limits by up to 2,000 pounds, but the statute ties the allowance to the difference between the battery pack and a comparable diesel tank and fueling system, so 2,000 pounds is a ceiling rather than a flat credit. It applies on state and interstate highways. Axle weight limits are set separately and are not relieved by it, which is where payload plans tend to come unstuck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets based in Philadelphia and throughout the surrounding Delaware Valley. Services are delivered through our fleet management platform, our vendor network, and our fleet specialists, not through a branch you need to visit.

No. Inspiration Fleet’s platform is an open ecosystem. You keep the vendors that work for you and we integrate their data, or we recommend partners if you want a change.

A fleet management company manages an organization’s vehicles across their lifecycle so the organization can focus on its core business. Inspiration Fleet plans the fleet, acquires and finances vehicles, manages maintenance, telematics, drivers, fuel, and tolls, and remarkets vehicles at the end of their economic life, with the data from all of it in one platform. That is a managed service, not a software subscription.

Inspiration Fleet is built for fleet-intensive organizations across the Philadelphia region. That includes life sciences and pharmaceutical fleets moving people and material between sites; distribution and last-mile fleets working the port and the warehouse corridors in Bucks and Burlington counties; construction fleets operating across three states in an ordinary week; HVAC, plumbing, and electrical field service fleets that need technicians on site and parts on the truck; and healthcare systems, universities, and public-sector fleets that answer to procurement rules as much as to operations.

Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets of any composition, from light-duty cars and vans to work trucks and specialty vehicles, for organizations in industries such as construction, field services, healthcare, distribution, higher education, and professional services.

Inspiration Fleet is built for organizations that operate fleets at scale and want a full-service partner rather than a set of point solutions. If your organization manages dozens or hundreds of vehicles, speak with a fleet expert and we will tell you quickly whether we are the right fit.

Fleet Management Coverage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Nationwide Platform, Philadelphia Focus

Inspiration Fleet manages commercial fleets across Philadelphia and the surrounding Delaware Valley, from initial assessment through full-scale program management, with dedicated project management and ongoing operational support.

A depot’s address decides its utility here. PECO is the electric distribution company for the City and County of Philadelphia, but Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery counties are split: PPL Electric Utilities and FirstEnergy Pennsylvania’s Met-Ed rate district each serve communities in all three. That determines the rate a site is billed on, the make-ready programme it can apply to, and the interconnection queue it joins. We handle that groundwork as part of the program and show the whole fleet in one view.

Areas served: Philadelphia and the surrounding Delaware Valley, including Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, Camden and Burlington counties in New Jersey, and New Castle County, Delaware.
